Swingin’ in Flip Flops

When I was younger, I loved to swing.  On the swing set, not “with the nightlife.”  It was so much fun to see how high we could go; it almost felt like flying.  And it was like flying when we’d jump off.  We’d have contests to see who could swing the highest and who could jump the farthest.  Amazingly, we never broke any bones.

Several years ago, we created “flip flop” or swing cards, and I saw one the other day made with the Movers & Shapers die for the Big Shot.  It’s so much easier than cutting by hand.  I’m not sure if the technical term is flip flop or swing card (it really does both) – but I love swinging, and I only wear flip flops in the summer, so either way, the name works for me.

Stamp set:  Morning Cup; Ink:  Jet Black StazOn; Pacific Point, Sahara Sand classic; Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral stampin’ write markers; watercolor wonder crayons (brights); Paper:  Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight card stock; watercolor paper; Patterns designer series paper stack – Brights; Other:  Big Shot, Movers & Shapers die, Calypso Coral 3/8″ ruffled ribbon, curly label punch; mini glue dots  (All products are available in the 2011-12 Stampin’ Up!® Idea Book & Catalog)

It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the curly label part swings around when you open the card.  You can put an image on one side and a sentiment on the other, or two images, or whatever your imagination goes with.  I used the same image on both sides, because that’s how much coffee I need in the morning to get moving.

Here’s what it looks like open.

If you want to make this card or one similar to it, simply contact me to schedule a workshop with some friends.  You can even have it at my studio, so all you have to do is bring some snacks and be ready to have some fun.

That’s it for today!  Have a wonderful Thursday.  Our blog hop goes live at midnight Central time tomorrow (so, for those of you on the East coast – 1 a.m. Friday), so be sure to stop by and check out some of my friends’ awesome blogs and projects!
